Hello I am trying to create or paint my own view. I am using Photo Shop 8
I have a little experience with this but my experience is with skining for the most part and that is with DDS files. And with skinning you do a flatten Image.
The Helmet view is a TGA file (Champ logo) and I am unsure how to save it when done.
As to say do you also Flatten the image before saving it in TGA format.
Also I would like to put a little window down on the right side to be able to view the LCD display is this possible or do I just erase that part of the paint. I think a little window or a cut out that looks like glass would be great.
Any tips please would be great.

Hello No help so far but maybe these pics will help you understand what the problem for me is. After I create the new or edited helmet view this is what it looks like before flattening. This is what it looks like after flattening, take not of the view and or lack of view. after flattening you can not see out and I do not know why or what I am doing wrong. Thank you in advance Hitman

Just go to channels in Photoshop and create an alpha channel, then adjust it (more black is more transparent, more white is less transparent).

Hello GGSF1 I tried what you said but that is not it.
I am confused since I am using the suppliedl helmet view that came with it. That is in a PSD format. all I am changing is the text for now as I learn. I am not adding anything to it and I am not removing anything from it.
I am either using the wrong version of Photo shop as maybe this was made on a updated version of Photo shop.
Or I am missing a plug in or something.

The problem is that the transparency is in the PSD file, but in TGA you only can have transparency using an alpha channel, and when you flatten the image the transparency disappears. So my idea would be open the helmet TGA file (logochamp.tga), copy the alpha channel to your PSD file and then save it as TGA and it should be transparent ingame.

Hello Still having the same problem happening no matter what I do it still do's the same. I even tried making a whole new one under the same specs as the original and as soon as I flatten it the view goes to what I am calling a frosted or upscured view.
I think the problem might be that this was created in in a different version of photoshop maybe shop 7 and the problem is there. Would love to here from the creator/modder of this I really think he could shine some light on this. Thanks GGSF1 for your help
