Hello fellow drivers!
To the Devs: Fantastic job on this MOD!
I've been racing on computers for what seems like eons. Through the years I've run the gamut in sim software, run in a few leagues, and spent tons of $ in upgrades to keep my computer able to have smooth framerates when I drive. Heh, that is always cheaper than say, owning your own race car.
I like to run with aids off, wheel feedback on full, and want maximum realism. Sometimes, on a server, I don't always have that choice, but for the most part I'll sacrifice a second a lap instead of turning on an aid.
The last several weeks I've been visiting here to download the latest F1 tracks, that seem to become available just in time for the real life F1 2008 season. Not sure how I found this place, probably when searching for the Australian GP track.
After several laps to get to know the track and dialing in my car, I begin to get consistant lap times (providing it's a clean mistake free lap lol) and have all the braking points, corners and what gear to be in memorized.
By the time I watch the real life race on the weekend -- and this is really why I am posting this here now -- I am stunned by how accurate the tracks and cars are! Almost every single corner, I find the real drivers in exactly the same gear I usually run. On the straights, I find the real cars wound out to maximum RPM at almost the exact same point my car is! Finally, the lap times are right on spot too! (accounting for 2008 tech advancements of course)
This is what I thri18888776262moneyve for! This is why the wheel on my gaming rig never gets taken off the desk! This is why my new upgrade computer is STILL not on my main desk because it isn't yet setup to run rFactor, and I would rather run my old rig than loose time setting up the new system. LOL!

Other things I like:
Each team's car sound different (in-car)
Each teams's car paint is different and seems accurate
Driver names are accurate
Engines will NOT last the race if you rev too high with max power map - even with damage off! I leave the power mapping at max, and then short-shift and feather foot the thing to the end!
Test drivers and cars are included!
Spectators in the hotpits crack meup!
Things I'd like to see changed:
External view backfire sound a bit too much -- I love the external view's sound, I wish I could get the in-car sound to use that external view sound! Any way for me to do this? When braking and downshifting, the backfire sound overwhelms everything else, so you can't hear the throttle blip or engine revs. Any way for me to adjust this?
