- only 10 laps [15 if you are lucky]
- they turn up damage to 80%, then allow 'restarts' after every wreck -- turn down damage to 20% with NO Restarts = everyone will drive with a bit more caution
there are no re-starts in F1 [rarely] if you want 'realism', then do not permit 'do overs' ........ it took 4 re-starts to complete ONE 10 Lap race !!!!

You can never get a serious race/game on public servers no matter what kind of game it is, thats why most run leagues

Yesterday I drove in a 22 F1 drivers race. 75% Damage and 80% lenght of the real race (50-60 laps). We finished about 18 or 19 drivers.
What I mean is that if you expect do a serious race in a public server... you have a head problem lol.
When you are in a serious league, you know that the race is long and there will be many opportunities to gain positions, so you don't do silly actions.
If you want serious and funny races, join a league. If you are running in public servers... mate, if you can finish 1/5 races, i wouldn't get annoied.
Cheers.

Well restarting is sometime better than driving with 2 cars on the track!
We just raced together 2 hours ago MS7XWDC and weren't you one to vote yes for the restart ?

Talking about leagues... what does it takes to be on a league ? how many races you have to do ? what are the general constraints ? How to enter a league (performances?) ? I have just no idea about how a league is working... Just curious

of1l is based on real 07 calendar, 50% race distance, with one quali knockout round...and real point system.
Everything is x2, tyre wear and fuel usage and damage is 50%.

@ Turbo
Hi. The only thing you have to do for enter a league is... register yourself in its website, post your personal information (mail, steering wheel or pad you are using, your kind of connection, etc) and choose a car.
In some leagues (the ones with best qualy) you have to pay a server, but they are very cheap beacause you pay it with 20 more drivers.
Well, it is as easy as enter a website and join it.
And... sorry for my bad english mate.

Our league at SimHQ has had a pretty good series so far, especially with the FSONE 2006 1.52 physics. We had 6 blown engines the first race, then only a few the next week, once we figured out how the mechanical failures were working in 1.3. We are running the 2007 FIA schedule, with make-up races on open dates, that is those weekends without a real race. Drivers and Constructors Championship standings for the races run to date.We had a pretty good race at Monaco with 4 cars on the lead lap, and only 2 DNFs, 1 due to a home power failure. We did have 2 restarts, but that is rare. We have a race director who monitors the start, and the rule is if 50% of the field is out in the T1 he can make an arbitrary restart. Usually we have none. Our rules are 1 hour races with 2x fuel, normal tire, normal mechanical failures. 10% damage and black flags only. TC and auto clutch are allowed. Collisions are on. Practice begins at 1200 EDT (-4 GMT) on Sundays, with a 15 minute qualifying session at 1240. We then run 2 x 30 min GTR2 races following the rFactor race. Due to the summer break we still need a few drivers to fill out the grid, and have these races left on the schedule: 09 Sept - Monza (ISI Brianza) 16 Sept - Spa (Spa Francorchamps 88) 23 Sept - Montreal (ISI Montreal) 30 Sept - Fuji (Suzuka GP4 3.0) 07 Oct - Shanghai (Pending testing) 14 Oct - Indianapolis (Indianapolis Motor Speedway) 21 Oct - Interlagos (Interlagos GP4 1.3) Race preview for Monza on this page with a link to a sample setup. The only requirements are that you are a member of SimHQ in good standing (free of course), and that you behave yourself. Like most leagues, cutting the course, reckless driving, and rude behavior is not tolerated.
