Hi,
I would like to know if it is possible to delete the Virtual Mirrors at the top of the screen and just use the actual car mirrors in the TV Cam view like in F1C?
What I'm basically asking is can you delete all virtual mirros but keep the car's actual mirrors on?
I find the virtual mirrors really hit my FPS during a race.
Thanks, Prodigy

I know, I think it would really help my FPS and I think many people are having trouble with FPS in RFACTOR.
Is it possible to make a formal request to ISI?
Thansk for the reply, Prodigy

try to look into the default.cam files of FSONE. I've just checked and there's a bunch... try to comment things with # to see if it removes a certain mirror. just test it, don't delete! just use # it's safer

It is 100% possible to disable only the virtual mirrors, cause i have some mods where there allready disabled or you can choose in the car-upgrademenu if u want to show them.

yeah i got 1 solution. here we go: for example, you drive the prof1tr spyker... go to X:\rFactor\GameData\Vehicles\FSONE\ProF1tr\Equipos\Spyker open the "Spyker_cams.cam" with normal texteditor and copy the settings for "LocalCam=ONBOARD001 // FORWARD FACING T-CAM", then go to "LocalCam=COCKPIT" and paste them. its simple^^ you just override the cockpit view with a T-cam view. and we all know, that you can use mirrors and even adjust them(!) in cockpit. save the settings and try it out. dont forget to choose the spyker, cause you did that only for that car and switch in cockpitview. you will notice, that u have the t-cam view and can use the mirrors on your car without the virtual ones. dont forget to set the headmovement to 0 !! one thing is bad. you dont see the helmet in this new view, cause rfactor things, that youre racing in the cockpit and dont need to display the helmet. sry for bad english "

hehe
he said that the mirrors in a t-cam view will only show you the shape of your car and you will have no other use for this, like look whats behind you and so on. thats why they have made the virtual mirrors.

I just want to get rid of it so it looks more like the T-Cam.

It can be done. MAke mirrors a invisable image in the mas, and i assume it ll work.

Has anyone tested what Phill suggested ? Phil , what file do u mean ? I am not too sure about those mirrors, but there has to be a file that shows those mirrors. If its a different texture then the acual Car mirrors, then you can just replace those mirrors with a transparent background or something. THen in game it would be shown as invisable mirror, in other words the user wouldnt see it. I dunno if this is possible becuase i never looked into it. I believe the mirrors should be there, and not removed. LOL Safety first. Or Another way i can think of is the Location that places that mirror up there. Perhaps something in the OSC files, that tells u to place it there. Just delete those lines and your set. Mirrors should be gone. Again I havnt tryed this. Just my ideas, and possible solutions, if looked into. Phil
