Hi all,
I'm relatively new to rFactor, but not sim racing. Just purchased it about a week ago and have downloaded lots of mods/add-ons from rFactor Central. First off, let me say that your FSOne mod is incredible. There's a good chance I'm gonna get converted from N2K3 "tin top" racing to the open wheelers. ;-) I'm running a Matrox Triple Head 2 Go monitor configuration, and the FSOne mod is incredible on it.
The setup SVM files have me a little confused however. I finally figured out that they need to go in the "UserData/<playername>/<trackname>" folder for them to show up in the Garage screen in rFactor. But when I downloaded and extracted the Mappack v0.5, there are TWO sets of SVM files in different sub-folders. I put the ones in the "userdata/FSONE" folder in my "<username>/Settings/FSONE folder, and they show up fine in the garage.
What do I do with the ones in the "rFactor/FSONE Setup" folder from the extracted file? For now, I simply copied the "FSONE Setup" folder to my rFactor directory, and it added that folder under my main rFactor directory. I have no idea why this would work in rFactor, or even if it is correct. Note the file names for the SVM files are different in the extracted "FSONE Setup" folder vs the filenames contained in the extracted "userdata/FSONE" folder. So I'm thinking I might be missing something here. I'm confused.
I need a quick "rFactor newbie" lesson on placement and management of SVM files. Any guidance you can give me, especially concerning the mappack v0.5 files placement, would be GREATLY appreciated!
Gotta go practice more now. I'm not very used to turning right in my racing sims. ;D
Thanks!
