So guys, given so far the performance of the teams during winter tests what are your predictions for the 2008 season of Formula 1?
For me I think Ferrari will come again on top with a strong performance. Also McLaren can have a promising season but I'm sure they will miss Alonso, but I don't think they can have the same chance they did last year. I have my hopes on Renault that they will bounce back this year. I think they might be hiding their game. who knows. I can't wait to see the W shaped rear wing concept they will unveil in Melbourne. As for BMW Sauber and RedBull I think they could show the same strong performance they showed last year or they could be even stronger. I just hope they didn't step backwards. Honda, I will still give them another year minimum for them to get their act straight, and as for the rest I think we won't be seeing any changes.
The truth is that we won't know for sure each teams performance until we see them on track. Until then we can just wonder.
What do you guys think?

It' going to be close season. Judging by testing lap times. I predict a very strong Ferrari - Mclaren not far behind. about 0.3 slower on qualifying pace I think - Red Bull is proving to be dark horse, with williams just behind them. - Renault and BMW could be in trouble. They are falling a little behind Mclaren and Ferrari. - I also predict strong year for Ferrari powered cars. Very reliable engines.

My guess is that Ferrari and McLaren will fight for the top positions again. Kimi will be driven by the knowledge that he is the reigning Champioin and will definitely want more than 1 title in his career, Massa is still working toward his first one and I'm sure he knows he can make it if he manages to drive consistently throughout the season. Hamilton has shown so much talent, it is impossible to count him out! Renault.. who knows. A lot will depend on how comfortable Alonso will feel back with them - Kimi, Massa and Hamilton are with the same guys as last year, that could make the difference even if Alsonso has already been with Renault. BMW will be the 3rd team in the upcoming season - that's my personal guess

from what i've heard, williams should be up in the running for the third best team..my guess is kimi will win again this season as he's adapted better to the lack of traction control than most other drivers, setting a time at bahrain during testing that was almost a second faster than last year's pole time. hamilton has alot more pressure on him this season and alonso has already said he doubts he has a chance for a championship this season. massa hasn't adapted as well and i fear that he'll get stuck playing second fiddle for the 3rd year in a row.

Something new from Autosport
I am not worried. Throw anything at Ferrari, they will come twice as stronger later in the season.
But I really doubt they set those 1.11.0s with heikki on 17-18k rpm :If thats the case they must have another 0.5 in the bag?

As much as I am not a Ferrari fan, I am a Kimi fan. I do believe Kimi has the best chances to win the championship again this year. However I think Alonso will be giving him a better run for the championship then the Mclaren duo of Hamilton and Kovalainen. I think Mclaren will struggle this year, not only with all the FIA security they will have overseeing every part they create on their car, and making sure they don't cheat, I think this could be the beginning of Mclaren's downfall in F1. I think the BMW's of Heidfield and Kubica will pose a more stronger threat then Mclaren, although I expect Renault to be tough too. I am hoping for Super Aguri to continue their surprising results this year and go one step further to being a more point contending team this year. They had some great moments in 2007 and I don't see why it shouldn't continue in 2007. I also think one to watch will be Fisichella in the Force India. I think he may have some good chances on scoring some points. Fisichella is lucky like that in his career. And his vast experience will be great for the team to develop their car and have a strong driver who has won races and helped win championships for renault in the past. Not that he'll be doing the same for Force India, but point scoring is possible. Just like all Australian's, I do hope Mark Webber gets a better car this year. If not for bloody stupid Hamilton, he would have won his first race last year. Not surprising the FIA would back hamilton. In all it will be an interesting year. At least I hope it will be GO KIMI!

Regarding Mclaren-Renault pace. Judging from winter testing Mclaren is about same pace as Ferrari in qualifying laps. But in race ferrari could be 0.1 to 0.3 seconds faster. Renault will struggle a lot and I have heard Alonso complaining saying they are even behind Williams, red bull and bmw who are whole very close to each other. Giancarlo Fisichella looks to be doing some solid laps in the FI car. It could be 2007 championship Part 2 . But this time with Williams, red Bull, Renault and BMW all closer to each other

This year is really a mess...
I still don't know how much will the Driver skill influence the car performance.
Alonso will give a big step forward to Reanult, for sure, and meanwhile McLaren will suffer the lack of info from Ferrari...
Ferrari adjusted their car, but reliability problems are not solved.
McLaren's driver are not that expert (and not that good), so they'll have to wait at least 4 GPs before thinking to win.
To me, the best drivers are:
1) Fernando Alonso 2) Kimi Raikkonen 3) [nobody else... oh, yes Michael Schumacher !]
The teams standings:
1) Ferrari 2) Mercedes / BMW / Williams 3) Renault / RedBull / Toyota 4) Toro Rosso / Force India 5) Honda 6) Super Aguri* (*=if subscribed...)
That's what I think. For the final victory: KR & SF.
