Important Note: Before Installing it is recommended that you delete these two items.fsone.rfm file (located in rFactor\rFm folder) FSONE_UIData folder (located in rFactor\UIData) ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Now for the release. I promised you guys wouldn't be disappointed so here goes. I have wrote up a small tutorial car set-up guide. Which can be found here. www.fsone.us/setup.htmExplains important features, like how to get rid of the sparks and bump problems. BTW keep in mind some of rfactor maps are screwed up. Stick with ISI like monza, or fsone version of Belgium. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Finally as promised here is the v1.8 public release. What's new - Engine 20500 RPM reinstated - New Suspensions Physics - Feels smoother (control of your car) - Montoya and Villneueve Reinstated - New Engine RPM changer (BOOST) - New Engine Lifespan - New Engine rpm usage - Renamed tire compounds - New Drag Values - New Fastest laps with correct top speed (350 KPH on monza) - New RFM files - renamed mod to FSONE 2006 - Fixed Several rules in RFM - Removed several rules necessary to allow safety car speed based on GDB file instead. Not RFM. - Added new FSONE06 UI DATA FOLDER, in preparation for 07. Download Links: (you only need to select 1 server. Theres three to choose from)rapidshare.com/files/67983799/FSONE_v1.8_Update_-__inprogress__.zipEnjoy you guys. Thanks Phil Sousa

Guys please check out our setup guide for v1.8. Make sure you use proper ride heights and packers, before complaining about the bumps and sparks.

Ok i just tested it in monza and spa. And if im honest i have to say that i dont really like it , suspension feels too tight and bumpy again! i also get lot of sparks even with packers ( F: 2.6cm R: 2.6cm ) and ride height to ( F: 3.8cm and R: 4.3cm )

Hi Phil, I have tried the new physics and after few laps and settings I finally understood the way to set up the car correctly. The feeling of the car is much better (ONLY ON FSONE MODIFIED TRACKS)! This version v1.8 really needs a MAP PACK in order to work properly because on other rFactor tracks it's simply unplayable! I have tried Interlagos 1.3 from Frank Alexandre and it's awful. On the other hand at Spa and Brianza it's really better!!! So my opinion is a bit divided!!! Anyway thanks Phil for the hard work...

Sorry folks, just a quick practical question (useful to many, I think...)
The file now available for downloads is called "v1.3 to v1.8".
Now, if one has v1.52 installed, is it OK to install the above file? Has anyone done it and is it OK?
Thanks in advance for your reply, can't wait to try it....
And, of course, thanks to Phil & co. for your dedication.

Hey Prenthouse here is Kay from GTR-Game-Portal I have to say that I'm a bit disappointed. The good things are, that not the softest lowest setup is the fastest and you have to take care for cooling. But when you have to adjust tracks where every other mod is working on to have an acceptable suspension feedback this cant be right. There seems to be too much grip from everywhere. My fastest lap with 1.52 on Interlagos 1.3 was 1:08.3. After 40 laps with 1.8 I can easily do 1:06.8 (low TC, too), this is 1,5 seconds faster with more top speed, higher apex speeds, very very easy handling. The car is jumping around like my 5 series BMW with 6t of downforce. Worked on setup with soft to stiff suspension. At the end I had a stiff (around 170N/mm Front) Suspension, 4,2/6,3cm ride height, packers only about 1,5cm to give the car much suspension travel. I tried everything but its a "built in" thing. This is not what I expect an 605kg Open Wheeler suspension to work like. I also tried other tracks which are less bumpy. But still the same problems and most important way too much grip. Turn the wheel more, full throttle -> insane apex speeds. I can go with loads of wing and still reach really high top-speeds. Well, this should be a feedback and no critics, I thank you for your work and hope you will get it right with FSONE2007. But please, don't go the way to make something to the suspension and then just adapt the really good tracks to it to release a track pack. This can't be the right way. Regards Kay

Regards Kay Hi Kay i think exatly same way than you. there is something really weird on suspension! it just doesnt feel right ,no matter what you do with your suspension settings it is always too stiff and car are jumping all around, even when you hit smallest bumps in tracks

I can show u a video of me driving on spa. I had car height set on 3.6 front and rear 4.5
packers 2.5 both front and rear very few sparks.
Packers 3.0 rarely any. Not bumpy on my part.
I only changed one thing from v1.7. That was the suspheight=0.245 to -1 for original bahavior. I think that changed the feel joni. Also i put undertrays back to 0.0 in some areas, as it should be. If you try BMW ISI, you ll see that mod you must have packers or higher ride height. It could be the Suspheight=-1 thats making it feel too gripy.
Phil
