well, i watch the cars change direction amazingly on TV, with plenty of down force, so i think it feels right.
but, i notice that sliding will still [properly] occur if you are wreckless.
[have not tested 1.8 Fixed yet, but 1.7 gave me so much fun driving, but knowing you can't be wreckless]

well i think it has way too much grip and suspension feels very weird, i used packers to ( 3.0cm) and ride height ( F: 3.6 R: 5.0 ) still get so much sparks. i did few laps in spa and my best time with qual setup was 1.41.284. just download my replay file and watch how fast i can go in corners, and just slam throthle at the bottom. Your talking about v1.7, v1.8 is nothing like v1.7 LOL Phil understood, i'm just saying grip level in 1.7 was fine. {i understand that you wanted a 'better way' to correct a few things in 1.8, and I'll test it tonite} That being said, if 1.8 is more 'grippy' than 1.7 [perhaps as a result of you wanting a 'proper fix' to heights etc etc] i'm not sure that's a very good thing. i'll test / reply later

Hi Phil, In my opinion this fixed version has too much grip and the suspension still needs a bit tweaking but not too much (it's anyway already much better than the first release). If you could find the good balance!!! COULD YOU PLEASE DO THIS FOR US PHIL!!! It's so nice to take our feedback into consideration...

Just tried the fixed version. It is better over bumps, but it still bottoms out too much. At high speeds the suspension is oszillating very much, even with the stiffest dampers and moderate suspension stiffnes the damper velocities are high, a neverending oszillation that leads to bottoming out. You can see it in this motec chart: this is not track dependent, even with a smooth surface the oscillation is there... The "grippy" feeling is there, it's not a feeling it is actually too much base-downforce. I can get ridiculous apex speeds with low wing settings. Best lap at interlagos is about 3 seconds faster than 2006 qualifying run 2. But there comes more than half a second only by the power-increase to 1.52. Summary: - suspension oscillation - much bottoming out even with high ride heights (4.0 / 6.4) and packers (2.3 / 2.5) with stiff suspension (170 / 150) - too much base downforce leads to high cornering speed and too low laptimes - further the tires are loaded more and are even more overheating than before - high power increase by boost Regards

I serioulsy think it is all the downforce, that is causing a load of problems.

Phil, I think you need new beta testers, or a wider group of testers.

I am however looking for a tester thats in American time zone.
Someone that lives in north or south America, that knows what they are doing and can achieve top times.
I can't use european people. Timezones are screwed up and they are never available during our hours.

Hi Phil, Can you confirm that we are keeping v1.7 for OF1L? If it's the case why don't you release it officialy for public? It's simple like that! What do you think? They will be happy! ;D Regards, Olivier

Ill put something toghther that goes from v1.8 to v1.8b. (which will be v1.7 with rfm proper file)
I am not gonna release this to rfactor central. Will be only on here. IM quite upset with the way things are in 06. Just messed up. Our FSONE07 feels quite nice at the moment.
